FLASH TUTORIAL: How to Share ChatGPT Deep Research Results Like a Pro
New Share Feature in ChatGPT Generates Beautiful PDFs

Picture this: You're sitting at your computer, fingers poised over the keyboard, ready to dive into some serious research. But instead of the old-school method of juggling seventeen browser tabs like some kind of digital circus performer, you simply type your question and... wait. That's it. No frantic clicking, no desperate scrolling through page seven of Google results, no questioning whether that random blog post from 2019 is actually credible.
Welcome to the era of AI-powered research, where the internet finally works for you instead of against you.
I'll be honest – I spent years perfecting the art of research chaos (I even learned how to use Boolean Search for more precise search results—once the hottest skill on the web, ha ha!). You know the routine: start with a simple question, open five tabs, realize you need background information, open ten more tabs, get distracted by an interesting tangent (or LOL cats), open another dozen tabs, and suddenly your browser looks like a digital hoarder's paradise. By the time you're done, you've forgotten your original question and your computer is making that whirring sound that suggests it's plotting its revenge.
But here's where things get interesting. Tools like OpenAI's Deep Research [available to ChatGPT Plus users] have completely flipped the script. Instead of me hunting down information like some kind of academic detective, the AI does the legwork. It's like having a research assistant who never gets tired, never gets distracted by cat videos, and somehow manages to read faster than humanly possible.
The beauty isn't just in the speed – though getting comprehensive research results in minutes instead of hours is pretty magical. It's in the thoroughness. While I might have missed that crucial study buried in an obscure journal, or skipped over a key piece of information because I was rushing, the AI methodically works through hundreds of sources. It's like having someone with infinite patience and perfect attention to detail handling the grunt work.
Now, I'm not saying we should all become research couch potatoes. There's still real value in understanding how to evaluate sources, think critically about information, and synthesize insights. But why spend hours on the mechanical parts when you could focus on the creative, analytical thinking that actually moves your work forward?
The future of research isn't about replacing human intelligence – it's about amplifying it. We get to spend our time on the interesting questions, the creative connections, the "what if" scenarios that make research exciting. Meanwhile, the AI handles the digital equivalent of trudging through library stacks in search of the right book.
Looking back at those years of tab chaos, I can't help but smile. Future researchers will probably look at our old methods the same way we look at people who had to physically go to libraries and hope the book they needed wasn't already checked out. Progress isn't always glamorous, but it sure makes life more interesting.
The best part? We're just getting started. If this is what research looks like now, imagine what it'll be like in a few years. The possibilities are genuinely exciting – and for once, that's not just tech hype talking.
Flash Tutorial: Share Feature in ChatGPT Generates PDFs
ChatGPT Deep Search now allows you to save your search results as professionally formatted PDF in addition to sharing them as a link, which was the only option previously. Once your results are ready, click the ‘share’ button represented by a tray with arrow pointing up in the top right corner of your Deep Search results.
You can also find the ‘share’ button at the bottom of your Deep Search results next to the ‘Sources’:
As before, you can still share your story as a link, just click share link, select who can have access to it, copy and share.
But the real magic happens when you click ‘Download PDF’ to the left of ‘Share Link’ button. You instantly get to download a beautifully designed and formatted PDF that you can add to your research sources.
Take a look yourself at the PDF this search generated and give Deep Search a try yourself. Don’t forget to let me know in the comments what you think of the results!
